With regards to my second blog - the one about me forgetting my passport - I need to clarify a few things. First, I have nothing but the highest regard for my brother-in-law, Pete. Afterall, he is willing to look after my sister for a full year for me:) Secondly, I take full responsibility for leaving my passport behind, eventhough it was safely packed in my 'passport wallet' prior to Pete's suggestion/demand. So, for those of you who are interested in adding your two cents, Pete has asked my to do an online poll:
If you were leaving on a one year holiday/work, knowing that England is a civilized country with stores, what is the one thing that you would double check for when you left the house for the airport? (Note that this is word for word the question Pete wanted me to ask!)
Please feel free to add your comments - remember I am very far away and miss you all a lot - and I will be sure to let Pete know how this turns out.

Sorry, Heather. If I got to leave the country I would be so excited, I think I would have my passport in my hand the whole way to the airport. Then I would check for my credit card.
Sorry Heather. I would also have looked at the passport 6 times on the way to the airport, sitting in the airport and lineing up to get on the plane. But I also feel that Pete should have done the scanning for you and made sure that you had your passport back in hand. It was his idea after all!

I would make sure I had my purse which I, like you, would have assumed had my passport, because like you I'm a very organized packer.
I would probably have checked for my passport a dozen times or so too. Just because Uncle Marv would have insisted on seeing it himself that many times. I too would have thought that it was in my wallet because that is where I originally put it. Where else could it be????
i would have checked things in this order, PLANE TICKETS... passport, cash
